MEGA Brands wanted a series of video games to help promote their latest toy “Battle Strikers”. The games were to enhance the experience and excitement of playing with the toy and should educate players about the product.

We were hired by a Montreal agency to program the games. In a matter of weeks we were able to deliver an engaging gaming experience, complete with in-game content that promoted the Battle Striker’s toy. These games offer rich gameplay of several planets, dozens of opponents, special attacks and collectible weapons.

Declicmedia’s website popcarte.com allows a user to design an online greeting card. This virtual card will be printed as a real card and sent through the mail to a recipient of the person’s choice. While this service has many competitors, Declicmedia saw an opportunity to distinguish themselves by providing a more interactive card creation experience. They were skeptical, however, of cumbersome load-times that poorly-designed flash websites sometimes have. It was imperative that the editor load quickly and that it respond well.

The development process, like all others, contained several iterations and lots of communication. Our goal was to pinpoint the tool behaviour thatusers would find the easiest to use.  We employed the latest Flex libraries and Flash player features and succeeded in surpassing Declicmedia’s initial expectations. Furthermore, the software was fast: thanks to heavy performance monitoring and optimizations.

The system was built with modularity and extensibility in mind.  These considerations, along with comprehensive documentation will permit Declicmedia to grow this solution with their ambitions.

Our client wanted a lifelike clustering animation that could handle dozens of particles. Using selective collision detection, tight rendering optimizations and custom physics calculations, we delivered a clever interactive experience to our client.

Our client wanted a Flash website which they could customize with XML files. The site allows a user to “brand” any site with their own logo or personal image by following these steps:

1. Upload a logo or image of your choice
2. Specify a website you wish to “conquer”
3. When you click “conquer” the animated character runs off the screen…

The chosen website loads and a few seconds later the animated character swoops in and leaves your logo on the website.

Of course this effect is only visible to you.
